Story Concept

Story begins when Calev is in the Kureshin Sands in an undercover position and he and Beishté get their matching marks. The mark is not a good "prophecy" to Beishté's people but she lives in a society where all soulmarks are considered good.

Calev is suspected and subjected to torture and truth serum to try and discover what he's been up to. He's rescued, abandoned, or escapes. Beishté is recruited as a spy because of her work at the government job of tracking chemicals and medical supplies manufacture, sale, and usage in the country.

When the matching soulmark shows up, Calev's organization uses it as an opportunity to arrange a marriage and give him a fake history as having maternal heritage from Beishté's country, justifying immediate marriage and relocation despite them being relative strangers and obscuring his being placed as her handler.

They do not start off both wanting the relationship, but they make it work for the sake of their positions.
