If I can find a way
to shove it under the bridge,
I will.
If I can find a way
to drown it under the bridge,
I will.
If I can find a way
to throw it under the bridge,
I will—
every time
you did not understand,
every time
we did not get along,
every time
we could not cross the bridge—
because I know
our love remains strong.
