by our fruits
known by our love
if we don't love, then it is known that
we are not the children of God

Your glory find
in summer leaves
in blooming rose
in gentle breeze
in golden reds
when those leaves fall
a flaming carpet
for us all
in frosted white
treasures of snow
in thickest ice
and water below
in brand new spring
the songbirds' call
for You, O Lord,
have made them all

hope can be brutal
a light in your heart
when nothing before you
gives answer but dark
and you must keep going
forever it seems
chasing the glow
of hope and its dreams
but hope is required
like breath and like light
the feeling that carries
a soul through the night
one hour we emerge
and find a new day
'cause hope has become
a promise and stays

#1 Prayers #
Good morning, God
I pray to You
Please hold my hand
And help me through
Keep my mind-heart
Close to You
In all I think
Feel, say, and do
#2
a little bird told me, this was good morning
woke me from my dreams, seemed without warning
I feel a firm breeze, just shy of a storming
reach out fingers for comfort: my God, He will hold me
#3
For F and Y
there are bruises on my heart
in the shape of your fingers
memories pound me often
the love we had lingers
no matter how hard the battle
I'll keep reaching to you
never give up my knocking
until it gets through
Focus on the Sufficiency of Christ
Say I'm an epic failure. so what? Not only does God continue to want me, to love me, to be unwilling that any should perish, including me, but He has already promised it's okay if I am weak.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." — 2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV
"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;" — 1 Corinthians 1:27 NKJV
His plan for me is not somehow less perfect because I'm not a superhero. And so I trust that, though it seems I continue to fail, if I commit my way to Him, He will bring glory—even from this. Even from me.
"Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass." — Psalm 37:5 NKJV

For F + Y
written on my bones a promise
I will not forget just how to miss us
now will my breath come without you in it
memory of love yet unforgotten

glorious is the day
that You have made
and mighty are Your works
foundations laid
unshakeable, unshaken
I in awe
bow before Your throne
adore Your all
#2 haiku for winter
winter comes on cold
pattering feet—patterned snow
drifts in down below
#3 Prayers #
another morning, brand new day
help me, Lord, to ceaseless pray
casting all my cares on You
and love like Christ in all I do
#4
A/N: I'm starting to feel more human, I think, after days of reduced exertion. Not quite where I was, but better, and that matters.
I thank You, Lord, for what I need
and didn't even realize
for every failure when I'm weak
and strength that You provided
Christ, my mercy, and my love
thank You, Lord, my God above
for meeting all my unknown needs
and most of all, for loving me
Riftspace Snippet #1
Jagged Edge wasn't an edge in normal space. But there was debris. Great clouds of it spinning near the great wrecks of spaceships that thought it meant there was no edge at all.
Ekos didn't focus on that, just slid past as he turned, falling under the swell without thought, a knife through butter.
Flay. That's what they called his natural motion.

what is the answer to questions
that burn in my heart like a flame?
I go seeking out answers and find
all of these mysteries by name
for surely You've not left us helpless
and want us to understand truth
so now I return to the diggings
studies I've loved from my youth
#2
answers come to those
who ask the questions—who work
experiment, search
#3
call me something pretty
help my heart believe
that I could have some value
a gift I must receive
call me something lovely
and I will reach, achieve
if God's grace and mercy
can do this thing in me
