Okay, so there seemed to be three sections of the house, extending from the back kitchen and closet. So looking forward "out" the front of the house:

The kitchen was to the right and the closet to the left. There's no entry between the two. These rooms are walled in.
Directly in front of the kitchen is the main social / welcoming area, set with large rugs, a low table in the middle of the room, and cushions set on all non-kitchen sides of the table of the table for seating. There were also several upholstered square stools, perhaps ottoman sized, which resulted in some sitting about twice as high off the ground as those on cushions. The main room is glassed in except on the left side, which is walled in. It too is hung with curtains which can be pulled back.
To the left of the main room, with a door leading from the hall in front of the kitchen, is the bedroom. They slept on a futon on a large rug. The closet is entered from the bedroom. The room is glassed in on the front side and hung with curtains, otherwise walled in.
To the right of the main room is the front door.
The front of the house extends further to the right from the front door with the sanitary closet, bath, and laundry all being to the right of the kitchen and walled off, separated by doors. The closet and bath are entered from the short hall, not the kitchen. The laundry opens to both the kitchen and bath.

Okay, so:

walking in the front door, the kitchen is to the right, a window is directly ahead and a couch / bed is to the left, presumably with roughly 2 foot cushions on the back that can be removed to make a single bed (3 ft.) into a double (5 ft.). Can one sit on a 3 ft. couch cushion comfortably?
just to the left of the door is a doored/walled off sanitary closet / bath / closet

That would mean that Tayas' dorm was single story and did not include a place for laundry.

walking in the front door, the kitchen is to the right, stairs going up are directly ahead, there's a panel blocking off the immediate left where Shiontas' bed is behind, there may be a desk or closet opposite in view
upstairs is Sontu's bed and space

Is the sanitary closet / bath under the stairs or upstairs? Don't think there's really space for laundry, which may just be an element of the dorms.
